Equal Justice Wyoming (EJW) and the Equal Justice Wyoming Foundation (EJWF) have released a joint Request for Proposal for the FY 2023-2024 24-month grant cycle and are seeking applications for grants to provide civil legal services to low-income individuals in Wyoming. The deadline to submit a grant application is 5:00 p.m. MT on April 29, 2022. Incomplete applications or applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Medical-Legal Partnership
The Medical-Legal Partnership project aims to integrate legal services as part of the health care team in order to improve access to legal services and, in turn, address legal issues that are causing detrimental health effects to low income individuals. The MLP project will address high need areas of law affecting low-income clients including, but not limited to: social determinants of health including income supports for food insecure families, utility shut-off protection, consistent housing support, access to quality education for children and consistent employment, access to public healthcare for children, mold removal from the home of asthmatics, and supporting families through restraining orders, adoption, and guardianship.
Legal Aid of Wyoming, Inc.
Legal Aid of Wyoming is a federally-funded non-profit law firm using Equal Justice Wyoming grant funds to provide a statewide advice hotline that is available five days a week. The hotline provides legal advice to income-eligible callers across the state as well as a centralized point for persons in Wyoming to call to apply for further legal services. Legal Aid of Wyoming also receives grant funds to staff offices in Rock Springs and Gillette.
Teton County Access to Justice Center
The Teton County ATJ Center is a non-profit located in Jackson and is the product of several community organizations working together to achieve a common goal. The Teton County ATJ Center consists of a law library staffed by a part-time attorney who assists pro se parties and screens potential clients who may qualify for more extensive legal services. If the individual meets income guidelines, the attorney/coordinator assigns the case to a local attorney willing to work at a reduced rate.
Wyoming Children's Law Center
The Children’s Law Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2009 to advocate for the legal rights of children through policy advocacy, legal representation and education. WCLC receives Equal Justice Wyoming grant funds to provide representation and advocacy for cases involving children and families.
The Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
The Coalition is a non-profit organization for all victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children in Wyoming. The Coalition will use Equal Justice Wyoming funds to increase in-house staffing levels, including staff attorneys who represent income-eligible clients across the state.
